There is so much blooming in my garden right now that choosing what to write about is difficult. I can only give you a snapshot. So, here goes.
The big news is that we have finally finished our little vegetable farm. We now have ten 3×6-foot raised beds. We built them a foot off the ground to deter the redwood roots.

You may ask what is planted…
Radishes (French and watermelon), beets, carrots, and several lettuce mixes are not pictured because they are too small.
There is room for a little seating area for an evening glass of wine.

The tomatoes are growing, with three small green ones on the vines.

Who is this? I found this cute little guy hanging out in one of the water tubes around the tomatoes.

Nasturtiums
It’s keeping me busy and dirt under my fingernails, but the garden is my happy place.

I’m so jealous! I cannot grow nasturtiums where I live! I try every year. Love your raised beds. Kinda jealous about those too!
Nasturtiums and calla lilies grow like weeds here. But unless you have a greenhouse, you can’t grow tomatoes, peppers, or cucumbers on the coast. I have tomato envy this time of year; thank goodness for the farmer’s markets. Thanks so much for dropping in.

Productive gardening at its best. Have you any recipes for using Kale? I have a huge crop of it and am tiring of the usual Irish Concannon and chucking it in stirfrys.
We like it in salads. Strip the leaves off the stems, then slice the leaves thinly. If you massage the leaves with your dressing a few minutes before serving, it softens them.
I chopped them and added them to meatloaf as well.
